December 16th, 2009 Weigh-In
I could have sworn I put in the right numbers from last week, but apparently I didn’t – for last week I put in the same numbers as the week before.
Taken on Wednesday December 16th, 2009
Weight: 248 ( -42 lbs)
Bodyfat %: 30.7 % (-5.2%)
Hydration %:47.6 % (+3.6%)
It’s coming off… gotta keep at it!
December 14th/11th, 2009 Workout – Snowboarding
Went out snowboarding for the first two days of the season on Friday and Monday. Friday was pretty much all shaking off the rust and Monday was way more fun as I got back up to almost full speed. I’m definitely feeling the soreness now – nothing too bad though and I know it will go away with a few more sessions. My core felt pretty good on both days and I really only noticed soreness in my thighs towards the end of each session. I know everything will just get better the more weight I get off over the season as well. Can’t wait to get out riding again on Friday!
December 9th, 2009 Weigh-in
My last mini goal was to hit 250 by today and I made it! Next mini goal is set at 245 for 2 weeks from now.
Taken on Wednesday December 9th, 2009
Weight: 253 (-4.2 lbs / -41.2 lbs)
Bodyfat %: 30.8 % (-0.7% / -5.1%)
Hydration %:47.5 % (+0.4% / +3.5%)
I am on pace to hit my next mini goal and by maintaining this pace, I will hit my first main goal of 230 by my birthday midway through February. I expect the losses to slow down some somewhere around then at which point I will change up my workouts and switch up my nutrition plan to keep things motoring along.
December 7th, 2009 Workout – Core
Did another core workout – feeling stronger – was able to move up in reps on some of these and it felt easier in general.
Here’s what I did:
Knee Side Roll – 20, 20
Side Crunches – 20, 20
Reverse Side Crunch – 20, 20
Side plank – 10 seconds each side twice (+5 both sets)
genie sit – 10, 10 (+5 1st set)
swiss ball crunches – 20, 20 (+5 both sets)
reverse crunches – 20, 20 (+5 both sets)
swimming on ball – 20, 20 (+5 both sets)
back extensions – 15, 15 (+5 1st set)
I’ll see how the next few go and then will maybe drop the reps but add a third set and then start working my way back up again.
December 5th, 2009 Workout – Cardio
Did a ton of running around today, but I still managed to fit in some cardio. Did 40 minutes on the recumbant bike – most of it on the second resistance level instead of just the first one like I’ve previously done. It was definitely a lot tougher, but I finished it off.
I’ve really gotten back in the habit of cooking big healthy meals again. It takes longer up front, but then I’m covered for at least a couple of days. If I have something healthy and ready to eat, it eliminates the excuse of grabbing some fast food. It’s impossible to do this on will power alone, so if I keep myself from having to resort to that very often then I’ll do much better.
December 3rd, 2009 Workout – Heavy Bag
Did a warm-up, then did eight two-minute rounds on the heavy bag. Proceeded to sweat my balls off. Forgot how tough it is! Started just doing jabs and footwork and progressed up to full combos. Each round I would switch my stance. After 8 rounds I did a few rounds of 30-second on, 30-second off constant punching.
Fun workout… I miss Muay Thai, but with winter coming I won’t get in enough days and I could use the money for the astronomically high gas costs I’m going to have driving back and forth to ski hills!
December 2nd, 2009 Weigh-In
Wednesday is weigh-in day – here’s the results:
Taken on Wednesday December 2nd, 2009
Weight: 253 (-1.8 lbs / -37 lbs)
Bodyfat %: 31.5 % (-0.4% / -4.4%)
Hydration %:47.1 % (+0.1% / +3.1%)
I thought I had only lost a pound, but it turns out I wrote down the wrong number last week, so I lost just under 2 pounds this week. On pace to hit my next goal!
