Day 42/63 - June 4th, 2008 Workout - Muay Thai
I continue to be impressed by the skill of the advanced students and humbled when working with them. It’s amazing how quick some of them are and how good their technique is. I’ve said it before and I mean it - I feel like a complete beginner again.
Today in class we did some counter attack work. Started off with different variations of catching and slipping jab and cross combos and then counter attacking with either a lead or rear leg Thai kick. After that we did some more complicated combos like blocking a jab, slipping a cross and then countering with a hook to the body, an overhand right to the head and a lead leg Thai kick to the leg.
Seems like every class I’m learning something new. It’s tough and the conditioning is tougher too, but I’m really enjoying the challenge and the faster pace of the class.
