Day 48/63 - June 9th, 2008 Workout - Muay Thai
Yesterday’s Muay Thai class was a lot of fun, but was pretty tough. The heat and humidity were really high yesterday and I think I started sweating before the class even started. I’ve got a big water bottle, but I think I need to get another one or I at least need to refill while I’m there - I can down the whole bottle during class and still feel thirsty which isn’t a good thing.
The class was mainly focused on counter attacks and responding quickly. We did a bunch of different variations of passing / blocking an attack and then countering as quickly as we could with our own combination. We switched partners every round which is good as you have to stay on your toes and really watch your partner.
A couple of times I got partnered with advanced guys that were really good and quick. I ended up taking more than a few punches in the face. They stung, but you better believe I tried a lot harder to block quickly/properly after that!
