Day 58/63 - June 19th, 2008 Workout - Muay Thai
I have a lot of work to catch up on tonight, so I went in for the 5:00 Muay Thai class instead of Konditioning so I’d be home earlier. It was a smaller class and we did mostly cross-fighting drills.
The one thing I noticed right away was that after going through sparring class, normal cross-fighting seemed so much slower. I remembered what Kru Lee taught me and worked on keeping my stance tight with my elbows in front of my chest and also tried to keep on my toes instead of being flat-footed.
We finished up doing the jump over/crawl under drill with our partners, then 3 sets of leg raises with our partners. After that I did a few rounds on the heavy bag - trying to move around and work my defense as well as striking.
It’s my little brother’s graduation tomorrow, so I’m headed there right after work. Since I won’t get a chance to workout that night, I’m going to go for a run in the morning. I’m finally at a weight where I can manage a long run and it will really help my cardiovascular endurance - something I need a lot of work on. I mapped out a 2.2 km route around my house using GMap pedometer and I should be able to do it at a steady pace without stopping. Hopefully it won’t be raining or freezing cold in the morning!
